What is a home inspection and why should I get one?
A home is the biggest purchase a person can make, and a home inspection is a great way to see if the house you're buying is a good investment. In short, a home inspection is a visual, noninvasive examination of a house at a specific point in time. A certified home inspector will conduct an inspection of the home's general condition to assist the buyer in understanding exactly what they're buying. A home may look great at a glance, but when examining the different systems in the home an inspection may uncover issues the buyer is unaware of. To my point, a home inspection will help you make a more knowledgeable decision, and just like the old saying goes, "Knowledge is power!"
What area do you cover?

Can I attend the home inspection?
Yes. In fact, it's a good idea to attend the inspection. This gives you the opportunity to learn about the house and ask questions. It also gives you a better understanding of the condition of the house and will help you understand which defects need the most attention while reviewing your inspection report.
Are there other inspections recommended?
A standard home inspection doesn't include radon gas, wood destroying insect, mold, water quality, or septic system inspections. Each of these inspections can be performed at an additional cost.
How much does a home inspection cost?
The cost of a home inspection is dependent on the size and age of the home. Taking into account the average size of area homes the average cost of a home inspection runs about $300 to $400. This does not include the cost of additional inspections. How long will a home inspection take?
This is dependent on the size of the home and how well it's been maintained. The average is 3-4 hours. Larger or poorly maintained home will take longer.
